A&E Doctor Emeka Okorocha and Love Island star and 5th-year medical student Priya Gopaldas discuss the Covid-19 vaccine and young people’s most asked questions. For more information and to book now, visit http://NHS.uk/CovidVaccination.
The questions (from students) include:
– How do vaccines work? I heard you can still get COVID-19 even after having it.
– How do we know that the vaccine is safe when it was made so quickly?
– Does the vaccine have side effects and will it affect me in the future?
– Do I need to have the vaccine? If so, why?
Almost half (47%) of young adults (aged 16 – 18) say the main reason for getting the vaccine is to ‘help protect their friends and family members’, and 79% of this age group feel positive about having had the vaccine or about getting it in the future.
Of those that want to get the vaccine but haven’t got round to it yet, over a third (37%) say it’s because they are unsure how to book it or keep forgetting to book it.
